Continuing on the Lower Loop

June 27,
We continued on the Lower Loop along the Yellowstone River. We stopped to see the Mud Volcano area, which had the Dragon's Mouth-top picture. It continuously belched sulphur-smelling steam and made loud dragon noises
. It sounded much like the animated dragon in front of the Excaliber Hotel in Las Vegas. The water rose with such force , it came out in waves.
In the same area was the Mud Volcano. The muddy, boiling water in the pool looked like it should have been inside a volcano.

Almost directly across the street was the Sulphur Caldron. There was actually two large boiling pools and an inverted cone which also belched sulphur smelling steam.
After we left that are we in Hayden Valley, a beautiful green area known for wildlife populations. We did see some buffalo and water birds.
