This beautifully preserved house was built in 1898. It was the second house on this property for the Hughes family. Mr. and Mrs. Hughes were Irish imigrants, who met in Boston and migrated West. He first sought his fortune by gold mining and when that failed, he tried farming and suceeded. He eventually owned over 100 head of dairy cattle and over 1800 acres of land on the Southern Coast of Oregon. The furnishings in the house are all historically accurate and in beautiful condition.
The house is located in Cape Blanco State Park.
