September 22,
We decided to take the tour from the KOA Kampground to see San Francisco. We left at 9:00 in the morning and stopped first at the Golden Gate. Luckily, there was very little fog and after a beautiful view of the bridge, we went through the Presidio, along the beach and into Golden Gate Park. The park is on a reclaimed dune area, covered with beautiful gardens and trees, a world class art museum, tea garden and band shell. We then went though the varied neighborhoods of SF and stopped at a Cable Car. Our guide dropped us at the bottom of the hill, we rode the cable car to the end of the track and she picked us up to continue our tour.
We went to Fisherman's Wharf for lunch, which we enjoyed at Alioto's, a restaurant that's been at the wharf for years. After lunch, we continued our tour, stopping at Chinatown and traveling though areas of multi-million dollar homes. We ended our tour by going back through the Presidio to Fort Point, under the Golden Gate. Our guide, Angela did a wonderful job of showing us all the different areas of the city and it's many treasures.
