August 15,
Though it was a long ride, we wanted to see the Hoh Rainforest, Ruby Beach and Forks, all in Northwestern Washington. We drove out Hwy 101 to the Upper Hoh Road. It's an 18 mile road to the rainforest. Our first stop was a small hiking and rafting store where the bears were having lunch. We stopped at the "Big Tree" an over 500 year old tree near the side of the road-either Joe is really small or the tree is really big!!
We stopped at the Visitors Center and walked the short trail, looking at the big moss and old forests. Very little empty ground is seen in the rain forest.
