August 8,
We decided to spend a day in Seattle, with the usual problem of how to attack a large city. We decided to try and find the high points-The Space Needle, Pike Street Market, Chinatown......
Chinatown was not as large as we thought it would be but Pike Street Market was huge. We entered the market by the fish market where the "fishmongers" put on a show, yelling back and forth and tossing the fish back to the men behind the counter to be wrapped. They had alot of fish and shellfish and were willing to wrap it for UPS shipment anywhere. There were many stands with fresh flower boquets for $5 or $10. I bought one as did many other women but the cats thought it was a salad for them. We ended the day by having a seafood dinner by the water watching the ferries go in and out of port.
