Ruby Beach

August 15,
While we were in the rainforest the car thermometer was reading in the 90s and the sun was shining brightly. As we got closer to the ocean the temperature dropped to the low 60s and the fog came in. Luckily we could see some of the beach and the huge rocks that are everywhere.
Even though the air temperature was in the 60s and the water temperature was probably below that, the kids were in the water playing on the floating logs and the beach was quite well populated.
Many of the northwestern beaches are
littered by large piles of driftwood. The driftwood is not usually small pieces of wood but whole big trees.
The path here was fairly steep and the foliage was thick.
