Neah Bay

August 11,
The trail to Neah Bay is a quite steep trail down to the water. The cliffs surrounding the bay have all been eroded from years of pounding by the ocean. When you get to the end of the trail, Tatoosh Island and Lighthouse come into view. The lighthouses in Washington all look similar-white outside walls and red roofs. On the way back up I saw the large rocks in the water---the rocks appear at beaches all along the coast.
The last picture is of the trail up-it was made of cedar planks on cedar logs and cedar slices set as "stones"
. The railings were all cedar logs worn smooth by so many hands gripping them.
